Snowy Doggu

In a phase where I referred to a drawn dog as a ‘doggu’, this was born.

It came out of several days in very early January 2015, when I decided to /attempt/ to paint in Photoshop with a tablet. I’m admittedly not the most experienced at that. I tried desperately to tie this picture together at the torso, but instead the dog looks like it puffed up in response to -50F weather, like a distant-future snow creature. The parts of the dog that I am actually proud of rendering are its leg in the right corner and the highlight in its back fur.

In February 2015, for the posting of the picture on this site, I tried to clean it up again by darkening and desaturating the picture slightly:

This is the original version, which is lighter to convey the presence of snow matted to the fur and snow on the ground reflecting light to the dog:

This one has a slightly longer progress animation; as you can see, it was very blurry until the final steps.
